It is with great sadness that we inform our members that our long-standing member, our highly esteemed colleague and supervisor Dr. Éva Varró passed away recently.
Éva was a pioneer, part of the first generation of psychodrama trainers in Romania trained by PIFE e.V. by Kamilla Sarkady, Klara Gallus, (at basic level) Olga Konya, and Sylvia Frenkl, at second level training.
She became a trainer for the Romanian Psychodrama Association J.L. Moreno (SPJLM) in the early 2000s and some years later a supervisor for SPJLM and PAfE e.V. Her leadership as the Chair of SPJLM for seven years marked a significant chapter in the organization’s history.
Fighting an incurable illness for several years, she decided to close all her activities more than a year ago, a decision about which she remained very discrete. However, her life’s work was publicly honored in 2024 with the Pro Urbe title by her town, Miercurea Ciuc.
The numerous messages of gratitude and appreciation sent in these past two days confirm how much she was valued and respected by trainees and colleagues alike.
Personally, I mourn the loss of a dear colleague and friend. Éva and I grew up together professionally, collaborated closely, and played countless roles in shaping each other’s paths. All these treasured experiences are indelibly woven into my heart, and her spirit will continue to inspire my work.
May she rest in peace, knowing her legacy will be carried on by those whose lives she touched.
With lasting remembrance,
Dr. Ilona Görög,
Former member of the Board of the Psychodrama Association for Europe e.V.
Member of Societatea de Psihodramă J.L. Moreno SPJLM
